HOW TO CREATE A KNOCKOUT WEBSITE FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS.
A few days ago, I launched a new design of my website. Creating a website can be totally overwhelming, so I wanted to take you through the process and give you a few tips how to approach a project like this. Here are 5 steps to simplify the process.
1. VIBE
How would you describe your style (example: classic, modern, laid back…)? Make sure to design your website to attract your IDEAL CLIENT! How? Just ask yourself a few questions. Where do your ideal clients shop? What TV shows do they watch? What is their favorite music, restaurant etc.?
2. CONTENT
Writing the copy is the hardest (at least for me) and the most important part. The right words can differentiate from others and make your business unique. It’s not necessary to include EVERYTHING your business offers on your website. Make your content short, clear, and effective.
3. NAVIGATION
Streamline your navigation. A website with busy and confusing navigation can frustrate your potential clients. The average page visit lasts a little less than a minute. Make it clear for them to showcase the MAIN GOAL of your business.
4. CALL TO ACTION
Do you want you clients to call, sign up or buy something from you? BE CLEAR and tell them what you want them to do! Create a clear call to action button with a link and place it in many places on your website.
5. DESIGN
If you decide to build your website yourself there are several templates available for you to choose from. For my website, I used Flothemes. It offers premium WordPress themes for photographers and lots of useful videos for easy installation.
