And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been. Happy New Year 2017!
I’m the type of person who doesn’t have New Year’s resolutions. I’m very impatient, so if I want to do something, I’ll do it immediately. However, what I like to do at the end of the year is look back and analyze a bit…about my work as well as my private life. I analyze what I did well, what I would like to improve upon or change completely. One of my resolutions from last year was to book more weddings in Florida. Don’t get me wrong, I love to travel, but I also treasure time with my family. Honestly, I must say that in 2016 I had planned to book more weddings in Florida, which I failed to fulfill. Well, some years are better than other ones, right? I’m a big believer that if I want to be successful it’s necessary to hold your head up, work hard and success will come. The sentence “I give up” is not in my vocabulary.
However, I always have a lot of work in Charleston, which I enjoyed immensely! Although it’s a little further away I’m always very happy when I get a chance to travel there and shoot beautiful weddings. And of course my travels are always associated with visiting my friends so that’s a “win-win” for me. Well, as I said, 2016 wasn’t completely like I wanted, but for 2017 I’ve already booked more weddings than I had planned! So “big hurray” for all the hard work I did!
I am extremely grateful for 2016 because I was so lucky to meet such amazing couples and shoot really beautiful weddings! I also really appreciate the long-term cooperation with the super talented girls Francesca and Blake from Pure Luxe Bride, Kimberly from Kimberly Hensley Events and many other excellent wedding vendors! Huge thank you for your business, your trust, your friendships, and your confidence in me!
Regarding my private life, I have to say that 2016 was most of the time calm and happy. My husband Barry finally, after a long search, found a job that he really enjoys. Well, I always say: “Happy husband, happy life!” lol (He is going to kill me :)). Our cute and never quiet little boy Andre successfully finished the first grade, albeit with a lot of notes from the teacher that he can’t sit still and talks too much!! I have no idea where he gets that from!! lol
Finally, I would like to sincerely thank all my couples for trusting me, opening their hearts, and letting me capture their first day as husband and wife. Thank you, thank you, thank you! š I love you!
2016, I want to thank you with all my heart for all the love, health, tears, laughter, family and friends. You rocked! š Bring it on, 2017! I’m ready for ya!
Renee Rodgers, thank you for your friendship and capturing these photos!!
