10 TIPS TO CREATE SELF PORTRAIT IPHONE PHOTOS

Believe me. I see it all the time, and I know what it’s like when you just want one good picture of you and your kids. Taking your own family portraits is a lot of fun, but it requires some patience and preparation.

10 tips to create great self portrait iPhone photos:

1. Find a place that fits your style (urban, natural, or home).
2. Find a shade or shoot about 1 hour before sunset: sunrise and sunset calculator.
3. Plan to do some traditional as well as candid, fun photos.
4. Use tripod: selfie stick & tripod for iPhone.
5. Use a self-timer and burst mode.
6. Use portrait mode if possible.
7. Bring candy (a lot of candy).
8. Take lots of photos, but have fun with it!
9. Make your shoot a priority for the day.
10. Edit your photos (VSCO, A Color Story, Lightroom).

Side note: And if you tried to do a session yourself and you don’t like your photos, hire a photographer.

Perfect family photos, in my opinion, are the ones that really capture the essence of your family. Whether you like to play games, tickles or hugs. Remember, not all of the photos has to be “perfect” if they capture the real essence of your family.
